CONVERSATIONS - Power w/ Aash Parmar
Monday May 25, 2020
Monday May 25, 2020
Abraham Lincoln once famously said, that "if you want to test a man's character, give him power." Power-dynamics are everywhere, and we interact with and exercise authority on a daily basis. Power can be used for good, and of course, more common to the human experience, power can also be used for evil. This week, we're joined by Aash Parmar, to discuss how we interact with power and what Jesus' life, teaching, and death have to say about power.

CONVERSATIONS - Lament w/ Prof. Rikk Watts
Wednesday May 06, 2020
Wednesday May 06, 2020
A significant amount of Israel’s songs are Psalms of Lament. Honest, poetic, direct, and somewhat disturbing expressions of emotion. Fast-forward to the charismatic West and lament makes up little-to-none of our worship experience. So, what is lament and why don’t we talk about it or practice it? What are we missing out on, and is lament a lack of faith? This week, Professor Rikk Watts - a world-renowned biblical scholar and current Dean of Theology at Alphacrucis College - contributes to the conversation.
